My name is Jonathan Fields, one of the proud owners of Superior Docks and Seawalls, and I've been building permanent dock structures for 20 years.

I started right here on this barge behind us when I was six years old with my father, and he taught me everything I know. The dock right behind me is sitting in 58 feet of water on true 42 foot, eight inch casing, driven to failure with four foot I beam feet so you don't have settling and you don't have rising.

If you're interested in a permanent structure, you know who to call.

On this project we wanted to absolutely maximize the durability of this staircase.

Instead of a traditional six by six pressure treated timber, we used three quarter inch thick, six inch steel casing driven up to 15 feet into the ground and filled with concrete. That means there is literally zero wobble or movement when you're going up and down them.

This customer also had trees and vegetation all over the hillside, so we took them down piece by piece with our 300 long reach excavator and moved all the wood out by barge.

I'm in one of our favorite machines here, a Case 225.

They're a little more responsive than the bigger machines, and there's a zero turn radius, so nobody is going to get hit by the counterweight. The reason I like working on the steel is because it is the foundation, and without a solid foundation your dock is not going to last more than a couple of years.

We want to build products that are built to last here in the Finger Lakes, so give us a call.

Most people cut the piling off and weld it on top, and that creates a point of failure.

We had custom plates made so a 40 foot 5 by 5 square stack goes in with no seams and no cuts. Behind me is our original 8 inch casing, driven to failure about 23 feet in the ground.

So if you take any ice or any hard impact, it hits that 8 inch casing instead.

The guys are putting in the work out here on Keuka Lake.

We’re getting close to wrapping up this custom dock project, with just a few more days left before it all comes together.

Can’t wait to show you the final results.

One thing we like to make all of our customers aware of is that we do offer in-house financing.

We realize projects like this sometimes come up completely unexpectedly, when you're not really ready for it. Our interest rates and payment plans are completely tailored to each customer, depending on down payment amount and what monthly payment works for you.

If you're holding off on getting your dock or sea wall done because of financing, let us know and we'll be happy to work with you.

When we first came onto this job site, this customer had a failing sea wall.

Their whole bank had fallen down and left them with basically no beach space, so they asked us to dig everything back into the hillside and build two brand new walls. We drove C channel all the way down to the bottom of our I beams, bent the top over to follow the contour of their existing wall, and welded it to our whaler so we could fill it in with timbers and keep our new beams perfectly plumb.

Now they've got no erosion problems and an absolutely beautiful product.

A failing seawall turned into a complete shoreline transformation on Keuka Lake.

This property had lost a major portion of its bank, leaving the homeowner with almost no usable beach space. Our crew excavated the hillside, installed a brand-new seawall, and built an additional wall above it to completely reshape and protect the property.

One of the best parts of this project was the custom fabrication required to tie our new wall into the existing structure while keeping everything straight, secure, and built to prevent future erosion.

Projects like this show what’s possible when you have the right equipment, experience, and crew for the job.
