The storm that rolled through Canon City the other day left an immense amount of hail damage and is sure to be followed by countless fly by night, high pressure, door knocking roofers who follow the storms around the country or state, typically only to do quick sloppy work because they know they're not going to be around to have to warrant any of it. Don't get me wrong, they generally do a really good job of making the whole process seem easy and simple and quick etc., but easy and simple and quick aren't usually the same thing as good, or right, or top quality. In fact, I've heard stories of many of these guys literally changing their phone number every time they show up in a new town...
I am saying all of this because we have several high quality roofers here in Canon that have been here for years and will be here for years to come. They are the people we see at the store, go to church with, or who coach our kids soccer team... Having lived in Canon for 23 years and having been a home builder & General Contractor for much of that time, I hate to see homeowners get burned and the work going to out of town contractors who may or may not give a darn about the quality job they are doing for you.
I want to first clarify that I have no vested interest in this whatsoever, but for whatever it's worth, I personally would gladly and strongly recommend Joel, Daniel and the team over at L & J roofing and contracting to help out with your hail damage work. They are locals and are the kind of guys that not only would I refer my mom to, but I wouldn't even feel like I needed to be there when they came by, if that says anything. Their number is 719.429.6260
Whether or not you end up using L&J, I can't emphasize enough: It is worth waiting an extra month or more to get the job done by a local contractor that you know will be here for the long haul then to end up going with the guys that just knocked on your door out of the blue whom you know nothing about. Or at least that's my two cents on the matter.
