This is what we get for trying to help someone out…
We have an “older” customer that comes every few days and shovels his own coal in to buckets an pays his bill faithfully. Last week, he told us he had to have a major surgery and so Frank offered to just deliver him a load of coal…no delivery charge included. That delivery was made, and when the money was brought to us (by someone not familiar with our lock box), they mistakinly put the money in the milk box that we kept envelopes in for customers to put their money or check in, and mark what size coal they took.
Well, that money was stolen….we believe sometime after dark on Saturday night, based on all the footage I can see on camera. We believe this is one of our regular customers, though we can’t prove it based on camera footage.
The scary part is that if they would steal someone else’s money, they are probably also helping themselves to an extra bag of coal, and who knows what else they will steal off our property.
