Our clients wanted to add height to their original cabinetry, and there are a couple of ways to do that. One option is to add a matching wood piece, but we typically like to keep that to 2” or less so it doesn’t look out of proportion.

The option we prefer is a mitered-edge countertop. We added height beneath the countertops and mitered the edges to create a 3.5” profile. The result looks intentional and elevated, and we were able to keep the original cabinetry!
