Must be able to lift 80 lbs. and pass a pre-employment drug test. Must be willing to work some weekends. Wage will depend on experience.

Job Description

Performs the various physical tasks required on the construction site to complete projects on time and within budget These tasks range from simple to complex, such as cleaning up the site, digging trenches, building scaffolds, moving and installing water, sewer, and storm sewer pipe, and controlling traffic for road crews. Labor workers are also required to use/operate tools such as hand tools, saws, compaction machines, jackhammers, heavy-duty machines such as Skid loaders, backhoes, fork lifts, pickups.

Labor workers take care of the intricate labor of any commercial, residential, or industrial project, and therefore are an essential part of the construction project industry. A skilled and dedicated construction worker helps ensure that a project proceeds on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

Labor worker’s responsibilities primarily focus on completing projects in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The following are some responsibilities and duties of a Labor worker:

· Taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures for the construction site

· Performing equipment and machine daily checks for safety and maintenance

· Digging trenches and backfill holes to prepare for the construction site

· Operating equipment and machinery associated with construction sites

· Following instructions from construction project managers and supervisors

· Loading and unloading construction materials

· Cleaning the construction site by removing safety hazards, materials, and debris from the worksite

· Assisting Operators and Leads with installing utilities, grading, and backfilling.

Skills

· Basic math skills to perform calculations for layouts and grade checks

· Basic Mechanical skills to use the machinery and equipment

· Physical strength when performing heavy labor that is required such as lifting materials and using manual tools (shovel, rock bar, rakes, etc.), and

· Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

Requirements

1 year Construction experience is required. Installation of wet utilities experience is a plus.

Bo Simon Inc. is proud to be a part of Tulia's growth with the ground breaking ceremony of Tulia's Business Park. We are proud of all the hard work and effort our team has put into this project and look forward to seeing it come to completion. Thank you to the the City of Tulia, TX and KSA for their support.

It's a 28 acre property costing $1.2 million. The first thing coming to the business park is a truck center.

Follows Operating Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned areas. Preforms scheduled operational and related tasks that arise as a result of resolving unplanned events. Utilizes discretionary time to enable sustainable performance results for the facility.

Responsibilities

· Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary

· Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection

· Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project

· Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently

· Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location

Skills

· Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or official visitors to the website

· Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems

· Familiarity with the operation of equipment.

Requirements

· Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· 2-5+years' experience in new construction and in a Lead capacity

· Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground

· Experience with managing demanding clients and offering creative solutions to meet commitments and requests

· Capacity to physically lift up to 50 lbs.

· Basic comprehension of technical documents, such as blueprints, safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
