A “guard” is defined in the Florida Building Code as “A building component or a system of building components located at or near the open sides of elevated walking surfaces that minimizes the possibility of a fall from the walking surface to a lower level.” In this case, the “guard” is the aluminum guardrail on a condominium balcony and it meets current code requirements by exceeding 42” in height and having less than a 4” opening.

We saved The City of Naples, FL million$ by demonstrating that the Hurr. Irma damaged pier didn’t need to be deconstructed and replaced from piling/bents up. We developed a repair plan that created a pier, better than before and got the pier back in service months early.
