Man.....summer is NOT going down without one last fight is it??? 🥵 Southeast Missouri is under a heat advisory ALL WEEK!!

The sticky humid Missouri weather makes all of our HVAC systems work harder unfortunately, but there are also some signs that something could REALLY be wrong:

1. Warm air: the system is running, but it's blowing warm air

2. Loud noises: grinding, squealing or scraping noises are not normal

3. Bad smells: burning smells or musty smells

4. Frequent "short cycling": the AC turns on and off every few minutes without cooling the house

5. Ice buildup: frost or ice builds up either on the outside unit or inner coils

6. Water leaks: water pools or forms a puddle around the indoor air handler

7. Complete failure: the thermostat is on, but the system won't run at all

Another energy saving tip to help with those large middle of summer and winter bills!

This one needed its own post because it needed a visual! I've been told this multiple times, but could NEVER remember which way in which season!

✅️In the summer 🏖 your ceiling fan should spin counter clockwise, because the rotation pushes the air down, creating a breeze and making you feel cooler. This can allow you to raise your thermostat a few degrees without being uncomfortable (we still aren't setting it on 78° without a fight though 🙄🤣). Dont forget to turn the fan off when you leave the room though.

✅️ In the winter ❄️ your ceiling fan should spin clockwise and specifically on low, because that motion draws the cool air up from the floor. This allows the trapped warm air from the ceiling to move down into the room.
