Last evening we attended Caribou Technology Center's spring advisory board dinner and meeting where we are active members for their Residential construction program.

We meet during both the fall and spring semesters of each school year to help navigate through course curriculum, give ideas on projects and navigate through hurdles that teachers or faculty may ask our opinions on.

We walked in last evening to find a bridge in the middle of the floor for the Caribou Historical Society and their walking trail system.

These students never cease to amaze us with their talents. A combination of self motivated students at the direction of their fine woodworking craftsman of a teacher Mr. Daggett. Designed, specked, built and will soon install this 24' glulam truss bridge here in Caribou!

The students built precise jigs, and forms to accomplish their difficult task of manufacturing arched structural lumber and did they ever succeed!

At Caribou Tech these students aren't just learning a hard trade they are shaping their future to being the backbone of America and our future leaders in building construction!

When we're not building 🔨🏗 we're volunteering every chance we can to help educate the youth about future trade opportunities! 📚🎒

We spent a few days this week visiting our local 8th grade students talking about the upcoming opportunities they will be able to explore at Caribou Tech.

When shoulder shrugs of "I'm not sure what I want to learn about" turns into "I think I want to drive trucks" "I think I want to paint cars" "I think I want to design homes" and "I think I want to be a welder" that is the way we build back the trades!

The next generation doesn't know these jobs exist if we don't allow them to make the conscious decision to explore them! Maine has Tech schools all across the state opening doors 4 year colleges could never scratch the surface on.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! 📣📣

We have been selected as a member of the Associated General Contractors of Maine to help with their Construction Academy being hosted by Caribou Technology Center this summer!

This program is designed to give students/ adults real world jobsite experience, through structured classroom education, an OSHA 10 hour course, when/ how to wear proper PPE, and through contractors across Maine hands on experience!

We want to help offer something different to these students and our sister company Roof Maxx Caribou, ME was the perfect fit!

We are in search of a Large commercial roof to do a full inspection, tune up, light repairs, and roof maxx treatment to!

The Maine Construction Academy program helps bridge the gap and open doors for our youth, interested in the trades through structured internship programs all across Maine!

This program is working locally in Aroostook County with Caribou Tech Center as just one of the many sites!
