Today, we’re celebrating Mark Zerlaut’s 30th anniversary with MakoRabco!

As one of the original Mako Steel employees, Mark has helped shape our company from its early days. His story reportedly began with helping Caesar design and build a doghouse, where his meticulous work and attention to detail caught the eye of a growing company. That small project became the start of a remarkable career.

Over the years, Mark has worn many hats. Today, as one of our estimators, he brings decades of experience, thoughtful problem-solving, and a wealth of company knowledge to our team. Just as meaningful are the dependability, friendship, and care he brings to the people around him.

Mark, thank you for 30 years of commitment and for being such an important part of who we are. We’re grateful to have you on our team.

We're proud to showcase a recently completed project in Queen Creek, Arizona! This expansive 71,589 sq ft facility was built to meet the growing demand for flexible, high-quality self-storage in the area.

We’re excited to showcase this impressive new multistory self-storage facility in Phoenix, Arizona!

Spanning 111,728 square feet, this facility stands out with its barn-inspired exterior, striking gabled rooflines, rich earth tones and prominent silo-style centerpiece. It’s an awesome build that brings distinctive character to a large-scale storage facility.

A lot of developers see a vacant mall, a dark office building, or an empty warehouse and think the same thing: this could be self storage.
Sometimes it can. Sometimes the building has other plans.

Column spacing, clear height, slab condition, zoning. None of that shows up on a drive-by walkthrough, but it's exactly what decides whether a conversion pencils out or turns into a money pit.
