Heat index values up to 106-112 expected.

Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia.

From noon to 8 PM EDT on Monday.
IMPACTS
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE INCLUDE:
Heat Exhaustion Symptoms include:
Heavy sweating
Pale, cold, and clammy skin
Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
Nausea or vomiting
Fast, weak pulse
Muscle cramps
WHAT TO DO:
Move the person to a shaded or cool, air-conditioned area. Cool them down with cool water, cold compresses, or a fan. Hydrate them with cool water or sports drinks, if they are conscious. Call 911
HEAT STROKE:
Core body temperature above 104°F (40°C)
Hot, red, and dry skin (lack of sweating)
Confusion, altered mental state, or slurred speech
Rapid, strong pulse
Loss of consciousness or seizures
WHAT TO DO:
Call 911 immediately. This is a life-threatening medical emergency.
Move the person to a cool, shaded place and remove unnecessary clothing.
Actively cool the individual by immersing them in cool water or applying ice packs.
