Heading out of town during the holiday season? Set your home to vacation mode and save energy while you’re away! 🚘 🧳 🌱

§ Lower your thermostat a few degrees or create an “away” schedule with a smart or programmable thermostat.

§ Lower your water heater temp. (Newer water heaters include a vacation mode setting.)

Unplug devices that consume energy when they’re not in use, including phone chargers, toothbrush chargers, TVs and gaming consoles.

WIEC members in the Carthage and Denver substation areas will experience a brief power interruption Thursday night at 11:30pm and again on Friday morning before 6:00am. The power interruptions will be due to Ameren switching transmission sources to allow for equipment maintenance. The power interruptions are expected to be less than 5 minutes in duration.

Members in the following townships will be affected: Fountain Green, Pilot Grove, Rock Creek, Prairie, Carthage, Hancock, St. Mary, Harmony, Bear Creek,
St. Albans, Chili and Augusta.
