April is National Safe Digging Month, and it’s the perfect reminder that every digging project starts with a call to 811.
Many people assume their project is too small or too shallow to require it, but that is not the case. In fact, underground utility lines can be buried just inches below the surface. That means even a small project like planting, fence posts, grading, or other backyard work can cause serious damage if you dig without knowing what’s below.
Before you put a shovel in the ground, contact 811 at least a few days in advance. It’s the safest way to protect yourself, your property, and the utilities underground.
And when the project is bigger than you want to tackle yourself, give us a call. We’re here to help with your grading and excavating needs.

Let the season begin!

Here's your frost law update for Thursday, March 26th. Quite a few counties on the West side are set to go off early next week. MDOT has posted they are lifting their trunk line restrictions farther north starting Monday, March 30th!

Tis the season!

Lake effect snow ramps up late this evening with peak coverage and intensity. Greater coverage toward the M-59/I-96/696 corridor while snow squalls are possible with rapid accumulations and loss of visibility. Highly variable accumulations of a coating to 2 inches possible, although localized higher totals near 3 inches remain possible. West wind increasing to gusts of 25-35 mph. Arctic air reinforces gusty west winds while wind chills drop below zero around sunrise Thursday morning. Light snow showers or flurries continue Thursday until the evening hours. Thursday afternoon highs only climb into the 20s.
