The first and last mow should always be LOW and slow.(1.5"-2")

Bag the first cut to remove fungal spores, powdery mildew, mold from snow.

BEFORE the grass is green cutting the turf bed short will prevent you from seeing the yellow grass on every fresh cut.
Torn yellow grass tips can indicate a dull blade.

The healthiest lawn is one with mixed varieties of grasses. This helps combat diseases and seasonal changes. Fescue can be more heat/drought tolerant. Bluegrass natural loves spring and fall but will go dormant in the summer without proper water. Perennial Ryegrass is quick to establish but will only last one season. Where one struggles another will thrive.
