Starting Saturday and running for two weeks, Floridians can buy qualifying hurricane preparedness items tax-free for Florida's annual sales tax holiday.

Roofing & Real Estate Tip:

If a listing is sitting on the market past 60 days & the real estate agent puts In their listing “this home is a CURB APPEAL standout” (in caps like this). WITH the roof looking worn out AND original (over 15 years old).
It’s not moving because of the roof age & buyers can not buy it because the insurance company won’t insure it!

Solution: Getting a new roof installed guarantees a quicker sale.

If you have a listing that’s listed over 60 days OR you had multiple offers that fell through because of the age of the roof, reach out to me for a quote!

Insurance Rates & What Governor Ron DeSantis is doing to make positive changes:

“DeSantis’ reforms include a one-year exemption on insurance taxes and fees amounting to $409 million.”

“Another $22 million in flood insurance exemptions would become permanent, and the average homeowner savings is projected to be 6%.”

More promising news: My Safe Florida Home Program is going to become permanent!

Legislative session begins January 9th. We will see how lawmakers treat these requests!

I have reached out to Floridians for Lawsuit Reform to get feedback from their organization to help combat the insurance crisis. I am looking forward to hearing from their group soon.

A Florida roofing company that is looking to make a positive impact in the Florida market is Janney Roofing who have joined the PIA of Florida to do just that.
We are advocating for education for policyholders at time of signing policies. This education includes policyholders with a home checklist to be proactive with maintenance & repair. Here is an easy step to make sure you and your family are prepared:

✅ Keep Gas Tanks Half Full – Residents should keep their vehicle’s gas tanks at least half full during hurricane season to ensure they have enough fuel to evacuate as soon as possible, without worrying about long lines at gas stations and to avoid gas shortages prior to a storm. For Floridians with electric vehicles, it’s recommended that the battery be maintained between 50% - 80% capacity at all times, depending on the type of vehicle and what the vehicle’s manual recommends.
