Pelco awarded $60,000 to develop smarter testing for electronic components

Pelco Component Technologies, an electronic components manufacturer headquartered in Cazenovia, has been named a winner of FuzeHub’s Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund New York State Microelectronics Innovation Challenge. The company and its partner, Alliance for Manufacturing & Technology of the Southern Tier (AMT), will receive $60,000 for a collaborative project to develop smarter testing for electronic components.

Putting Power to Work in Power Filters with the TRIMAX MX12

Trimax MX12 series circuit protectors are thermal circuit breakers designed for, among other applications, use in power strips. They act as circuit protection for overcurrent conditions, providing 3-50 amp ratings, and are often utilized as panel-mounted circuit protectors. Designed for coffee brewers, food processors, blenders, dishwashers, toasters and many more consumer and commercial appliances. Ratings of 0.25A to 70A, 24VAC to 250VAC.

It operates by using a thermal mechanism to detect overcurrent, tripping to cut power, and is reset by pushing a button.

Operation: The MX12 functions as a push-to-reset thermal protector. When excessive current flows, heat builds up internally, causing the mechanism to break the circuit. Once the component cools down, the button can be pushed to restore power.

PelcoEMS has partnered with Phase-A-Matic Inc, pioneers in manufacturing of phase converters. They have the ability to take a single-phase power and convert it to balanced 3 phase voltage with their rotary converters. They are utilizing PelcoEMS’ contract manufacturing services for their line of static converters, which allow many 3-Phase motors and machinery to jump-start and work on 1-Phase power, to populate a “Hard Start” component with 15 surface mount components and 3 wires. Putting Power to Work with the Trimax MX36 Series

The Trimax MX36 is used in automotive aftermarket addons like plows, liftgates and bucket trucks. They use a lot of current to operate and the MX36 series protects the vehicle and the operator in overload situations. Another critical application is DC voltage charging stations. Your standard EV charger converts AC voltage to DC voltage which in turn powers the automobile.

The MX36 is a high amperage circuit breaker capable of protecting up to 300amp circuits. They are a thermal breaker that when they sense a fault or overload (heat) they open the circuit protecting the wiring and the equipment.

Putting Power to Work with the TGQB Recycle Timer

The TGQB is a recycle timer with a selectable cycle length and adjustable “On” time as a percentage of the total cycle from 1% to 99%. Available relay ratings of 10 amps. Relay common is internally connected to the input voltage terminal to minimize terminal count. Adjustment potentiometer is separate from the module to allow for panel mounting.

There are many uses for a percentage timer. We have many customers that manufacture chemical pumps that dispenses product based on time. Natural gas does not smell and our timer dispenses a chemical into a well 60 seconds every hour or 10% of the time.
