Forty years in rigging and I still see things that amaze me. This came in the shop today. 9/32” G 100 chain assembly 2-leg. I made this chain for them 8 years ago. It need help along the way that they did themselves. This chain has a swl of 7400lbs. They put Chinese spa shackles on it to attach the hooks that were rated for 1 ton and these Chinese hooks rated for 2400lbs. When I punched out the connecting links I just barely hit them with the hammer and they fell apart. Yes this sling was in daily use on a spreader bar.
