Finally moved in another critical water jet we just acquired this one is a wardjet-1515 don’t let it’s little size full you; our WardJet (5’x5’ cutbed)

Is going to be a huge advantage for smaller, high-precision steel parts and tight-tolerance work. Since the table is more compact, the gantry system stays extremely rigid and responsive, which helps tremendously with small holes, tight-radius circles, intricate geometry, and critical precision cuts. Which in simple terms allows us to cut beautiful small circles for our steel jobs.

This lets us use your much bigger abrasive waterjets for bigger jobs and leave the higher tolerance smaller jobs for our ward

Howdy!

Wanted to share one of our recent projects 👇

A customer needed their investment management logo cut out for a sign going to California. We waterjet cut the logo out of 6061 aluminum, then took the tree portion over to our CNC to machine in 0.201” threads so we could tap 1/4-20 studs.

This allows the piece to be mounted cleanly off the wall for a really sharp, dimensional look.

It’s currently off to powder coated purple and black. From there we will weigh it, package it, and ship it out to California!

Machining SXSW letters today on one of our CNC routers.

For this job we’re using a compression bit, which is ideal for plywood because it cuts both upward and downward at the same time. This keeps the top and bottom veneers from tearing out and leaves a much cleaner edge especially important when the letters will be visible in a finished installation.

These will be installed in several buildings across downtown Austin for this year’s SXSW.

Always cool to see projects we machine locally become part of such a big event.
