We at KT Pacer enjoy the fresh perspectives of interns and being able to immerse them in the day-to-day of the real-world applications of what they learn through their schooling.
Let us introduce you to Matthias Marasch, who has just finished up his internship here at Pacer.
"This summer, I completed a Continuous Improvement Engineering Internship with KT Pacer, where I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects focused on 5S implementation, material flow, shop floor organization, process improvement, and manufacturing efficiency. These initiatives allowed me to gain hands-on experience while applying the engineering and problem-solving skills I have developed during my studies at Iowa State University.
This upcoming year will be my final year pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Iowa State University, with an emphasis on systems optimization, continuous improvement, and process engineering.
In addition to my academic work, I serve as an Event Director for Iowa State University Dance Marathon, the university's largest student-led philanthropic organization. During our 2026 Big Event, we helped raise more than $180,000 to support children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
Following my internship, I will be continuing to support KT Pacer remotely as I finish my degree, working with ongoing process improvement initiatives and project implementation. I have greatly enjoyed my time with the team and am excited to continue contributing to KT Pacer while completing my final year at Iowa State".
It's been a pleasure to have Matthias on board with us, and these relationships not only give them hands-on experience but keep us in the loop with the new and exciting processes being taught at some of the best Universities in the country.
