Intern Spotlight: Joey
This summer, we had the opportunity to welcome Joey to JW Bell as an Engineering Summer Intern — and he made a serious impact.
Working primarily in our machine shop, Joey took on projects ranging from organizing and labeling our machine tool cabinets to sorting and cataloging more than $100,000 worth of tooling. He also helped populate our CAM system’s technology database, entering tooling information to make our manufacturing processes more organized and efficient.
But one project really put his engineering skills to work: Joey designed and built a vacuum table for holding thin materials on a mill. Even better, he built it using leftover steel and aluminum materials already in our shop from previous projects, and 3D-printed plastic.
From improving organization to creating a practical solution from materials we had on hand, Joey brought initiative, problem-solving and a willingness to get his hands dirty throughout the summer.
We’re proud of the work he accomplished and grateful for everything he contributed to the JW Bell team. Thanks for a great summer, Joey!
