We are pleased to welcome Shawn CornalIy to our team! Shawn and his wife Lianna live in Solon with their three kids, a bunch of ducks, chickens, dogs, cats, and several thousand square feet of gardens that his wife uses in her farmstand business. When not wrangling children and animals, Shawn and his family enjoy music, and everyone plays at least one instrument! Shawn’s hobbies include woodworking, and his favorite part is installing a piece made from wood that he milled from a fallen tree.

Merit Construction recently finished constructing the Musco Sports Center. This incredible Muscatine amenity is the largest inflatable dome of its kind in Iowa. The 122,000 sf indoor, temperature controlled sports facility provides space for football, soccer, and baseball, along with hard courts for pickleball and volleyball. The center includes synthetic field turf, with permanent restrooms and concessions on site and is also available for community gatherings and other non-sports events.

Michael and Dalton participated in Southeast Iowa Builders Association SEIBA’s Build My Future event last week, where Edward Stone Middle School seventh-graders enjoyed a day of hands-on learning and exploration. It was fun to be back at Edward Stone MS, which Merit completed in 2012!

Welcome Kathy Snyder! Kathy joined us in April and has quickly become indispensable!

Kathy was drawn to our company’s strong commitment to community involvement. 'Merit clearly takes volunteering seriously, and being part of an organization that actively gives back is important to me. It makes the work feel more meaningful beyond just day-to-day responsibilities.'

Kathy is very involved in Jazzercise, but when she's not there, you can find Kathy and her husband Ken most weekends at a campground, grilling, playing cards and bags. And when the weather is nice you will find them on the water boating and tubing. Four legged family members include 5 year old Maple, a German Shorthair Pointer (a rescue and great hunter & retriever) and 6 year old Sadie, a Pomsky.
