Race day again. It's been a while. Last half was September of 2022. I think I've done 10 of them now? I've kinda lost count. Not to brag, but it is my slowest yet!

Also not to brag, but today is officially a dozen years since I struck out on my own in the painting game. Just like running, every session has it's own challenges. I am incredibly greatful for all the support, referrals, and lessons that have shown me the way.

On to the next rounds of races and spaces!

Pro tip: don't overlook preparation.

My current project is fixing someone's mistake. Client said they were having an issue with the finish chipping. The cabinets were all sprayed in the fall of 2019. The board on the left is how I picked them up after a tsp scrub. Middle was sanded with 120 grit with a random orbital sander. The client asked to make a sample with my normal method, and third board is that after sanding the same (speed and pressure) as the middle.

The home owner told me everything was degreased & liquid deglossed the first time. Then sprayed two coats, of a product that said self sealing on the can, but obviously finish had much to be desired, due to their lack of correct prep. The one on the left ended the same as the middle. My method ended up correctly dull, but without color removal. Don't get me started on the painted over felt pads and scotch tape.

Long story short, please do not overlook the prepwork. This is the second time they are dealing with a messy, torn apart kitchen, when they could have had it done cotrectly the first time. Plain Bedroom No Longer!

Removal of sevaral layers of wall paper, repairing cracks and painting two bedrooms in a farm house. Both rooms had three layers to be removed from all walls and ceilings.
