Spent three days this week attending a manufacturer certification course covering startup, controls, commissioning and service.

Continuing education has always been important to me. There is a lot to know in this industry, and the equipment and technology we work with continues to change.

Taking the time to attend training, learn directly from the people who build the equipment, and continue improving our technical knowledge is an important part of what we want Bear Mountain Mechanical Services to be.

It has been 107 days since we launched Bear Mountain Mechanical Services, and we have been blessed beyond measure.

In just over three months, we’ve completed residential and commercial projects, budgeted renovations, installed new equipment, replaced old equipment, and fixed things that others couldn’t or simply weren’t willing to take on. Along the way, we’ve sent out more than 100 combined invoices and proposals.

For a company that was just an idea not too long ago, it’s incredible to look back at what these first 107 days have brought.

The future for Bear Mountain Mechanical Services is bright, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support we’ve received from our customers, friends, family, and community. Every phone call, referral, opportunity, recommendation, and word of encouragement has helped us get here.

And hopefully, God willing, this is only the beginning.

We’re looking forward to the day when we can begin adding team members to BMMS, continue growing the company the right way, and bring the level of service we believe in to even more people.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Bear Mountain Mechanical Services during these first 107 days. We’re excited to see where the next 107 take us.

It was a long week insulating ductwork, hanging duct mains, and finally setting some VAVs for a local commercial fit-out.

We’re making great progress on this project, and it’s exciting to see everything starting to come together.

Working by yourself definitely presents some challenges, but it’s also rewarding figuring out safe and efficient ways to get the job done.

We recently wrapped up this residential system replacement, and we’re really happy with how it turned out.

The existing straight air conditioning systems were replaced with Bosch inverter-driven heat pumps. While some homes benefit from low-ambient heat pump systems, that’s not always the right answer. In this case, the homeowner already had a high-efficiency boiler with hot water coils in the ductwork that was in excellent condition.

Rather than replacing a perfectly good heating system, we recommended a dual-fuel approach. The new heat pumps will handle the cooling season and provide efficient heating during the milder spring and fall months, reducing oil consumption while allowing the existing boiler to take over when colder weather arrives.

The best HVAC system isn’t always the most expensive one. It’s the one that’s designed around your home, your existing equipment, and your goals.

We’re proud of how this project turned out and appreciate the opportunity to help another customer improve the comfort and efficiency of their home.

It was a long, hot day, but we got this unit replaced and back up and running just in time for tomorrow’s heat.

Getting equipment back online before a stretch of high temperatures helps keep buildings comfortable and minimizes downtime when it matters most.

Water-source heat pumps are a common HVAC system found in commercial buildings and are also used in some high-efficiency residential applications, including geothermal systems.

While they’re known for their efficiency, they’re also more complex than traditional HVAC equipment because they rely on multiple systems working together. A problem with the cooling tower, boiler plant, water loop, or the heat pump itself can all impact performance.
