Community members in South Jordan gathered this week to bury a time capsule a the newly dedicated Bingham Creek Regional Park for Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. Mementos and notes were buried in the southern corner of the park and will be unearthed in 2072. Who knows what exciting things the park will see over the next fifty years?!

As Utah's Community Builder, we are proud that constructing the City of Logan Government's extensive's new Fire Station 70 and LFD headquarters will allow for improved response times for residents in case of fires and medical emergencies. The more earthquake-proof facility's direct access to 200 North and 100 East affords firefighters an excellent launching point to reach the city's broadest area at the fastest time during a crisis.

For a project this big, we had to take to the sky to get an idea of the full scope of Weber School District’s new West Field High School! Currently under construction in Taylor, UT, this 400,000 square-foot behemoth designed by MHTN Architects, Inc. will provide the growing communities in western Weber County with a cutting-edge education facility. Hogan Construction knows the importance of communication, especially on our job sites. We are featuring one of those sites also dedicated to the “transmission” of information—the new Spanish Fork Community Network (SFCN) Administration and Warehouse. Located at 630 West and Center Street, SFCN provides internet, cable, and phone services for Spanish Fork City residents. It also provides I.T. services for city staff and is the home of a local television station, SF17. As you can see, Blalock & Partner’s design is taking shape, showcasing SFCN’s philosophy of continual innovation. As “Utah’s Community Builder,” we are proud to be part of the Spanish Fork’s goal to provide their residents the most technically advanced data network possible.

Hogan was thrilled to break ground yesterday with Utah Department of Natural Resources State of Utah Division of Forestry, Fire & State Lands - Southwest Area Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, and SPE Architects on the long-awaited Wildland Fire Operations Center. This new facility replaces the Lone Peak Conservation Center in Draper, which the department has been operating from for decades and has since outgrown.

"It's an exciting step in a new direction," said Jamie Barnes, director of the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. "This new facility will help our state firefighters fulfill our objectives for responding and managing these wildfires throughout the state of Utah."

We had a beautiful day yesterday to celebrate the official opening of Salt Lake County Government’s new Bingham Creek Regional Park! Designed by Think architecture - www.thinkaec.com, this collaboration between Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation and the City of South Jordan – Government has resulted in a 160-acre green space for the community. Built on a former gravel pit, Phase One of the new park features multi-purpose fields, a playground, walking paths, pavilions, bike trails, a disc golf course, restrooms, parking, and a maintenance facility.
