For this month's Inside ACDI, we're introducing Tim, Manufacturing Engineer II, whose journey from shop helper to engineering is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and a willingness to keep learning.
Tim's career at ACDI began 28 years ago as a summer job while he was still in school. What started as a position as a shop helper grew into a lifelong career as he advanced through CNC machining, CNC setup, lead and supervisor roles before becoming a Manufacturing Engineer. His path reflects a deep commitment to learning, growth, and taking on new challenges.
Today, Tim serves as a bridge between engineering and production, helping determine manufacturing processes, route new products, and solve complex manufacturing challenges. Whether it's bringing a challenging design to life or finding solutions on the shop floor, Tim thrives on helping make things possible.
Over the years, Tim has witnessed growth and innovation throughout the company. He remembers helping learn and implement ACDI's first Swiss machining technology and is especially proud of leading the project that brought the GT26 machine to the company. Along the way, he's learned that valuable knowledge can come from anyone, whether they're working on the shop floor or in the management office.
What Tim enjoys most about ACDI is the people. After nearly three decades with the company, he has grown old with many of his coworkers, and the company has played an important role in supporting his family through the years. His advice to new employees is simple: hard work pays off. His own journey from shop helper to Manufacturing Engineer is proof of that.
🏍️ Outside of work, Tim enjoys building and upgrading motorcycles and is currently on his fifth bike, which he proudly calls his "pride and joy." He also enjoys playing guitar with his son, combining two of his favorite hobbies with family time.
