After months of coordination, walkthroughs and planning, luminous egress installation gets underway next week at student housing in Madison, Wisconsin.

See the black-coated stair nosings?

These custom nosings were specially requested by the project architect, a detail that brings both visual refinement and enhanced stair visibility to these stairwells.

During today’s final walkthrough, it was rewarding to see how these nosings deliver both safety and aesthetics in an often overlooked interior space.

We were walking the stairwell with a couple of supervisors today when suddenly…the lights went out. ⚡️

Just like a pop quiz, we all were reminded why luminous egress and glow-in-the-dark signage matter.

In an emergency, occupants don’t have time to search for the exit path. Reliable, code-compliant egress visibility can make all the difference when the power goes out.

From teardown to urban redevelopment.

Just off the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, Theory Madison is a showcase for transforming underutilized infrastructure into in student housing.

We walked the site this past weekend with Mortenson Construction to see progress firsthand, ahead of our scheduled system installation in May. We are proud to provide safe, code-compliant egress in low-light conditions for its future student residents.

Remember this teardown? Hard to believe this is the same site.

What started with a vision for urban redevelopment is now a sustainable residential rebuild with a very different purpose.

We’ll share where things stand now in our next post.

Walkthrough complete! ☑️ Luminous egress installation at Rambler Tempe is scheduled for early May 2026. This LV Collective project at 📍1020 East Apache Road is a 289-apartment high rise featuring a mix of studio, one, two, three and four-bedroom units.  Proven technology for new and retrofit 🏗️ construction alike, our glow markings guide residents ➡️ toward exits, making evacuation smoother and safer.
