to service the Midlands of South Carolina. After serving his country for twenty years and retiring from the United States Air Force, Merrill moved on to build his valuable experience working with a large HVAC company in Columbia, South Carolina. He used this knowledge and understanding to open Richardson’s. A year and a half later, Sherree’s husband, John Richardson, joined the company. With a bac
kground in maintenance and personnel management as well as a degree in psychology from Newberry College, John brought insight that helped build Richardson’s into the reputable company it is today. The next decade brought success for Richardson’s in new construction installations, with some focus on service and repairs. As the economy boomed in the Midlands, Richardson’s matured along with the surrounding communities. The company relocated to its current location in Chapin, South Carolina in 1990, and experienced slow, controlled growth. Merrill Richardson retired in 1993. John and Sherree Richardson continued to grow and manage the company together until John passed away in 2009. Sherree Richardson is the current owner of Richardson’s Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., bringing over 30 years of personal experience in the business. Richardson’s continues to work in the new construction market, and is constantly increasing operations in residential service, repairs, and retrofits in existing homes. The company expanded its services to include installation and service in light commercial businesses and air quality control. We service the state of South Carolina, primarily focusing on counties in the Midlands, including but not limited to: Lexington, Richland, Newberry, Saluda, and Fairfield counties. Richardson’s has been awarded numerous HVAC awards since its establishment in 1982. The company is licensed and bonded in the state of South Carolina. Each of the company’s technicians are EPA certified and attend regular training classes to stay current with changing technology in the heating and air industry. Everyone at Richardson’s has the autonomy to do what is best for the customer, as long as their decision proves fair to all involved. Honesty, Integrity, and Quality are the most important values we share. The company has a number of employees who continue to devote their time and energy after fifteen or more years of loyal service. Our motto has always been to treat the customer as if we are the customer.
