The moth trio all together!! Honestly I feel like the picture doesn’t do them justice - in part to my lack of fancy camera equipment 😂 taking well lit pictures of things behind glass without a big reflection across them is hard! Any tips?

These moths are 6” x 6“ acrylic pieces on watercolor paper – currently framed and matted in 8” x 8” shadowbox frames. I tore the edges on these after painting them - it was a look I’d seen other artists do before and I wanted to try it but it was nerve wracking!! I’m happy it paid off in the end though 🙂

The Luna Moth

The final moth of the moth series! I really love this set - they’re so fun and quite different from my usual work. This series can easily be continued too! Just drop a comment of the next type of moth you’d like to see.

I lost my first follower today 😱 but I won’t let it discourage me! In life and art, growth isn’t always linear so I have a feeling social media may work that way too.

The Hercules Moth

I had so much fun with this moth series! I have one more completed already in this collection so far. Drop a comment if you’re a moth lover and have a particular one you would like to see painted next!

Any guess on what the final moth for tomorrow might be? If someone guesses correctly, I’ll send them a mini 2”x2” acrylic on canvas of a moth or flower of their choosing!

The Comet Moth (or Madagascan Moon Moth)

I had so much fun with this moth series. I have two more to go along with this one that have large tails. I’m tempted to continue this series and start doing some smaller moths that don’t have tails. Let me know what you think or if there’s any specific moths you’d be interested in!

Aren’t these the cutest little wild daisies?! I found them on a trip to the beach 🌼

No new followers today but it’s crazy seeing the insights on reels vs. posts! The algorithm definitely has a preference it seems. Yesterday my post got likes from strangers for the first time which was really cool! Not personal contacts or fellow artitsts - just completely random people surfing their own feeds. It’s cool to have those brief moments of connection!

Something a little different from my usual art for today’s post: I recently joined the Guild of Charlotte Artists! I’m so excited to be a member and it’s so cool seeing my art alongside so many talented artists in their art directory!

Everyone I’ve spoken to with the Guild or about the Guild is so incredibly kind and I’m looking forward to meeting so many more Charlotte artists. I would definitely recommend giving them a follow too, Guild of Charlotte Artists , to see and support local Charlotte creatives! The breadth of mediums, styles, and skills is truly inspirational.

Today I’m seeing my biggest follower jump so far! A few are some really awesome fellow artists but most are some of my mom’s friends since she gave me a shoutout 💕 Regardless, welcome and thank you for joining the ride! I’m so blessed to have the support of my family in my art career, and I hope that in turn my art career can support my family one day 💖🩵

There’s just something so peaceful about an open field 🌾💚

I painted this one a few days ago from a photo I took on the Wagon Loop trail at the Anne Springs Close Greenway. I get so excited when I see hay bales - I used to have so much fun jumping over rows and rows of them as a kid 💛

“Three Sisters”

7”x 5”x 0.5”

I painted this based on a photograph I took of some pansies blooming in late winter/early spring last year. The three flowers made me think of my mother and her two close sisters - hence the piece’s name. I love how the flowers are blooming with beauty and grace despite harsher conditions and cold temperatures. Their admirable resilience reminded me of my mother and aunts!
