Solar farm developers consider many factors when choosing a site including proximity to transmission lines and substations; a flat terrain and open spaces, impact to sensitive areas such as wetlands, and most importantly, landowners who choose to lease their land and join a project.
While concerns about rapid growth and its impact on rural America exist, the reality is that solar farms are well-suited to coexist with traditional farming and contribute to enhancing rural communities nationwide. And a very small percentage of land is actually needed for solar.
