Not every weld is meant to be seen.

Today’s project was on a beautiful Lake Minnetonka home where an old sunken hot tub had been removed. The next step is converting the space into a new stone patio. First, the structural steel underneath had to be modified.

We cut out two large structural I-beams and brackets they were bolted to, along with the angle iron supports that hung below the ceiling of the lower patio, giving the homeowner the clean, open look they were after.

To restore the structure, we welded new structural angle into the existing frame and welded the galvanized corrugated decking back into place, creating a solid foundation for the concrete base that will support the new stone patio above.

After a Fourth of July failure, this boat lift and dock support system needed more than a quick repair, it needed to be rebuilt and reinforced the right way.

We removed the failed section, repaired every broken structural weld and reinforced the frame with four 8 foot sections of 2”×2”, 1/4” thick angle, staggered to distribute the load across the entire structure instead of one weak point.

If it’s worth fixing, it’s worth fixing right.

Latest build for Father’s Day. 🔥 Built this custom fireplace for my dad using reclaimed train tracks, an old mill smokestack, a vintage cast-iron hog-boiling cauldron, and old wrenches cut down into chain hangers. Love giving old steel a second life!!!

Cut down and reworked these pallet rack cross beams from 48” to 40.5” per customer spec. Removed the end brackets, re-measured and cut to final length, then welded the brackets back on. Finished with a fresh coat of paint for a clean look. ✔️🔧🎨
