Back in the classroom! 🎓
We recently gave a lecture for students at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a question behind every project we design: where does the stormwater go?
Zeca Ferraz, Vice President, and Ben Lamontagne, Production Manager, talked with UTC students about stormwater, flooding, and how site design decides what happens when the rain comes.

Our VP Zeca Ferraz is speaking at AGC East Tennessee's Advanced Blueprint Reading: Civil Engineering Session on October 8.
He'll break down how to read civil drawing sets and the most valuable things contractors can get from the plans: grading, site layout, utilities, drainage, erosion control, and the details that are important not to miss. If you work in construction and want a sharper eye for civil plans, this one's for you.

📅 October 8 | 8:00–10:30 AM
📍 Construction Career Center
Register through AGC East Tennessee.

Today, we're celebrating Joyce Jalkh's birthday 🎉
When asked about one win she's proud of this year, Joyce shared: "My win this year is looking back and realizing how much I have to be proud of—my family, my work, the milestones we've reached, and all the little moments in between. I'm grateful for every one of them."
That's such a grounded way to measure a win. Wishing you a wonderful birthday, Joyce!👏

GOOD NEWS: Georgia developers now have more certainty when it comes to permitting timelines.

With SB 447, Georgia permitting agencies have clear deadlines for reviewing land disturbance permit applications:
• 45 days to approve or deny a complete application
• 14 days to review a resubmission
• Denials must identify the specific deficiency and the applicable code or requirement

For developers, that means more predictable schedules, fewer unknowns, and clearer direction when revisions are needed.
Planning a project in Georgia?
CEG can help you navigate the permitting process and keep your project moving forward.

Curbed Construction’s new office is officially in motion 🚧
The site needed a creative stormwater solution, so we engineered one that also opens the door for future development on the property. That’s the CEG way: design that plans beyond the first building.

Proud to be Curbed’s design + permitting partner. Move-in coming soon.

This pipe was never built for this storm. On July 3, a Flash Flood Warning hit Chattanooga as 1+ inches of rain fell in about an hour. Watch what an undersized outfall does to a sidewalk, and a road. CEG sizes stormwater systems for the storms that actually show up.
