Come backstage and meet Seth Buller, a carpenter whose path to New Blue was as unique as his projects. After a 1.5-year cross-country bike trip—stopping along the way for trade gigs—he found himself drawn to Chattanooga while visiting. With a background that spans landscaping, painting, framing, and even crafting custom chicken coops, Seth has always felt most comfortable when building.
After moving to the Scenic City, Seth started vetting construction companies just as thoroughly as he would be interviewed by them. He was drawn to New Blue’s “solid reputation.” Seth appreciates the company's transparent leadership, the sense of camaraderie in weekly meetings, and the strong emphasis on the team's work-life balance.
“The beauty of being a carpenter is that you never stop learning,” Seth says. “We work on a wide variety of projects, and it is so satisfying to see builds come to life from blueprints."
Seth's supervisor says he always prioritizes quality, consistently doing his best work with a positive attitude, and balancing hard work with fun.
Beyond the workshop, Seth is fueled by ice cream, long bike rides, loud music, and spending hours at record stores.
∙ What’s your most memorable project? “A movie set for a horror film; we were challenged with building components outside of the norm.” (see pic)
∙ Do you have a hidden talent? “When I was in school, I learned to whistle loudly to trick classmates into starting or stopping running during PE.”
∙ If you woke up as your 16-year-old self tomorrow, what would you do? “I’d go back to sleep for the rest of the day.”
∙ What are you most afraid of? “Making decisions, losing my impeccable wit, answering questionnaires...”
