Congratulations to the winning alliance at the Yakima SunDome competition. 4060 was the third pick on the number one alliance. Good job Bearcats! With some luck we’ll qualify for district championships.

Today we attended the 2026 FRC Kick Off in Auburn, WA. We are back at the high school testing last year's swerve drive based robot on the new 15 degree bump obstacle. The robot can clear it at speed but gets hung up easily.

Our first aluminum casting workshop was super fun. We made a few sets of screwdrivers and various other castings. All foundry patterns were 3D printed demonstrating how to make the leap from plastic parts to aluminum cast parts.

Bearcat Robotics will be hosting an aluminum casting workshop at W. F. West High School on Saturday November 22nd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This workshop is targeted to FRC teams that attended last weeks presentation about 3D printed foundry patterns. You will love coming down to Chehalis to try your hand at casting parts from aluminum.

Topics to be covered will be:
Mixing Petrobond foundry sand
Forming molds
Melting aluminum
Pouring molds
Finishing castings (including heat treat and machining)

We have a lot of sand, come and cast something of your choice.
