Finished up this Kerambit in time for a friend to give it as a Christmas gift- It turned out really great, and I was told that the guy who received it was way into it. That makes me super happy! The steel is AEB-L, the handle is maple burl with micarta pins, hand sanded to 1000 grit and finished with tung oil- the sheath is kydex with a tek-lok, and can be carried ring up, inverted or scout carry.

Cracked these out of their clamps and took some of the extra material off- this is my favorite part; it’s when I think they really start to look like knives. Also, all this dust makes me look like an old man- and I feel like one after spending this much time hunched over the grinder

Into the boiling cold! After a 1900 degree hardening cycle, these get quenched between aluminum plates with compressed air to cool them, then they go in this slurry of dry ice and acetone to chill them down to just shy of -100 degrees F. , , , , , , , , ,

Your boy didn’t finish these throughout the year like a normal person, so now he’s up all night heat treating these bad boys like a go-getta to be ready for BLADE show next week in Atlanta- , , , , , , , , , , ,
