Proud to showcase another outstanding wastewater infrastructure project completed by the Mongan Painting team.

Our crew, led by Larry, recently wrapped up protective coatings work in an Oxidation Ditch, using a three-coat system of Tnemec Company Series N69. The finished product speaks for itself — clean lines, consistent coverage, and exceptional craftsmanship throughout a challenging concrete containment structure.

Projects like this highlight the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail our field teams bring every day. Protective coatings in wastewater environments demand precision and durability, and Larry and the crew absolutely delivered.

Pool season may not quite be here for swimmers just yet… but for us, it’s already in full swing 💪

One of our crews just wrapped up this municipal pool restoration, bringing a clean, bright, and durable finish back to one of the community’s favorite summer spots.

Surface Prep: Bio-friendly detergent cleanse followed by high-pressure power washing and abrasive brush blasting to ensure proper adhesion.

Coating System: Three-coat system using Tnemec Series 161.

Project Spotlight | Industrial Steel & Access Structure Coatings

Another strong finish by the Mongan team.

For this project, David and crew completed the surface prep and coating application for structural steel, stairs, and elevated access platforms in an active industrial environment.

Coating System:
Surface Prep: SSPC-SP1 hand-tool and solvent wipe, followed by abrasive blast with Sponge-Jet to SP6 Commercial
Prime: Sherwin-Williams Macropoxy 646
Finish: Sherwin-Williams Sherloxane 800

The result: a clean, high-visibility, durable coating system delivered safely, on budget, and within the outage window.

Our team recently wrapped up a full clarifier coating project, delivering long-lasting protection and performance for critical treatment infrastructure.

We completed surface preparation and applied a robust 3-coat protective system across multiple key components, including:
• Weir troughs
• Clarifier equipment
• Bridge structure
• Concrete basin wall extensions

What You See | What We See 👀

Collection system assets lie underground — including manholes, which provide access to inspect, maintain, and rehabilitate sewer and stormwater infrastructure.

What You See (Above Ground): A round, unassuming maintenance cover in the roadway.

What We See (Below Ground): A concrete access point leading to collection system infrastructure vulnerable to H₂S, I&I, and age — requiring proper surface prep and a high-build structural liner.

This Kansas City, MO project is a perfect example of “what we see.” ECAN-certified applicator Mongan Painting rehabilitated a sanitary sewer manhole by abrasive brush blasting and pressure cleaning the substrate per SSPC-SP13/NACE No. 6, then stopping seepage with Hydrxx-3. They applied Epoxytec Series 456 CPP Sprayliner at 200–250 mils and verified a pinhole-free finish via spark testing — all in a single day.

🏛️ Project Spotlight: Revitalizing a Landmark – City Hall Restoration

One of our crews recently completed a full exterior rehabilitation and repainting of this historic City Hall building — a proud centerpiece of its downtown district. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, the structure boasts striking classical architecture, from its Corinthian columns to the ornate cornices and period brickwork. Our job was to preserve that historic beauty while giving the building a refreshed, long-lasting protective coating system.

🎯 Scope of Work
• Complete exterior surface cleaning and prep, including brick, trim, and cast stone elements.
• Rust stabilization and primer applications on metalwork and ornamental features.
• Custom paint color-matching to maintain historical accuracy and meet city preservation guidelines.
• Repainting of all architectural elements, including:
• Columns and cornices
• Window frames and sills
• Stone base and decorative bands
• Rear and side fire exits and staircases
• ADA ramp and safety markings were also integrated into the refreshed scheme.

• Logistical coordination was critical around this active municipal facility, including daily communication with city staff and traffic management near pedestrian areas.
• Our team ensured minimal disruption to city operations while maintaining strict quality control and safety standards.
