Big shout out to our hardworking field team who put in a lot of extra days to meet critical completion deadlines. Our field technicians have spent many months adjusting the mechanical systems to their design setpoints.

Our technicians just finished work on the final tenant buildouts at the new Sentara Albemarle Medical Office Building in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. It's a great feeling to finally see the buildings HVAC systems performing in their final capacities.

Tidewater Air Balance is wrapping up our work at the new VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Chesapeake. Our crew has been working hard on this project since April. Big thanks to our TAB Team Field Leader, Eric Davis, for managing the field work. Great work!!

Our scope of work included witnessing duct air leakage testing, air balancing of large variable volume rooftop units and terminal boxes, and hydronic balancing of chilled water, heating hot water, MRI condenser water, domestic hot water and domestic chilled water.

Niche Trade Apprenticeship Program Has Continued Success.

Chesapeake, Virginia. May 2024 – Tidewater Air Balance employee successfully completes Virginia’s new Air & Hydronic Balancing Technician Apprenticeship Program.

Tidewater Air Balance would like to congratulate employee David Wright on being the second person in Virginia to complete the Air & Hydronic Balancing Technician Apprenticeship Program. Wright completed the 3-year program by successfully passing NEBB Certified TAB Technician Exam.

The Air & Hydronic Balancing Technician Apprenticeship is a registered apprenticeship with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Labor. Successful apprentices receive a Virginia Journeyworker’s card and achieve a highly recognized certification by NEBB, the premier international certification association for the testing and balancing industry. Apprentices complete 6000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction over 3 years. To graduate from the program, apprentices must pass an examination. Chesapeake based firm Tidewater Air Balance developed the program with the Virginia Department of Labor in 2020 after struggling to find workers with experience in their specialized part of the HVAC industry. Several more Tidewater Air Balance employees are working their way through the program and they are looking at add more in the future. “Tidewater Air Balance is very proud of David Wright. His certification proves our apprenticeship program to develop more skilled technicians in our trade is a success.” says Brian Ross, Vice-president of Tidewater Air Balance.
