Pmc dropped a fleco packer bucket by needing some major work done. We basically built a whole new bucket. New top, pin bosses, top ear brackets, sides, bottom, bottom wear plates, side wear plates, wear bushings, clean out teeth and re worked the packer wheel. Since it was all new we couldn’t leave it unpainted, a fresh coat of paint and it’s ready to work for years to come.

Capitol dropped a dump truck by needing some work. The back hinges were a wreck and some one welded the barn door feature closed. The only option was to remove everything and start over. We made all new hinges and brackets for the tailgate and truck out of 3/4 plate. We had some machined barrels laying around, so we utilized them for the pins. It was super windy when we were doing this job , so unfortunately we had to stick weld the majority of it. Everything turned out good and worked perfectly.

Couple jobs we knocked out for Capitol construction. First one was a mobile job at their shop. The four main doors came off the track damaging them. They removed the sheet metal and needed extra pieces of angle welded in to support the new thinner gauge roofing material. So we installed angle roughly every 2ft. The second job was a skid steer bucket, they caught this one in time. The bottom was still good. We started by arc gouging the existing wear bars off and installing 9 new ar400 bars. We then removed the cutting edge and welded in a new blank. They want to move towards bolt on edges for the smooth buckets. Once the blank was on we bolted the new double sided edge on. The last job was some aluminum doors for a concrete casing. They were damaged during the construction job. There was no hope saving the frames but we were able to straighten the 1/4 plate. Once the plate was straight we made new supporting frames and reinstalled the hardware.

Handy Contracting reached out to us for assistance with their excavator bucket, which had wear plates on the bottom that were almost completely worn through. We began by using air arc gouging to remove the worn-out solid wear plates. Upon removal, we discovered that the bottom of the bucket and the cutting edge were not welded but rather sandwiched with the wear plate. Consequently, we gouged the bottom of the bucket and welded the bottom side of the cutting edge. Next, we installed new 3/4 inch AR400 wear plates every 2 inches, fitting the curve of the bucket. Everything was welded using dual shield flux core, resulting in a great outcome that will last for years.

The customer's request involved removing the factory bed and installing a hybrid flatbed, along with fabricating an extreme duty hitch during the process. Custom mounts were created using the factory risers to fit the new bed's mounts. However, the bed's test fit revealed incompatibility issues with the Dodge, specifically the toolboxes hitting the spring hangers. To resolve this, the boxes were notched and rewelded. The bed was secured in place using 8 1/2 bolts at the front and 2 1-1/4 bolts at the rear. The rear section, which sustained damage, was repaired through the replacement of the center piece with new material. Additionally, a new/used tailgate from Samsons was installed, and the entire unit was repainted. The final step entailed wiring all lights to complete the job, resulting in a successful outcome.

Payne McGinn and Cummins Inc. delivered a lowboy trailer requiring extensive repairs. The trailer had been damaged by a fallen tree, causing three cracks on the top frame and four on the side. A previous attempt at repair had been unsuccessful, as the frame was not properly realigned and the cracks were merely welded over. We initiated the repair process by arc gouging the existing welds and creating a V-groove for full pe*******on. After thorough preparation, we successfully pulled the frame back into position and applied a TIG root and 7018 stick fill/cap. The repair was then ground smooth to achieve a seamless finish. To provide additional reinforcement, diamond plating was installed on both sides of the trailer's top plate. We also addressed the damaged ramps, repairing one and fabricating a new one to replace the missing unit. Finally, we replaced the landing gear, which had been improperly repaired, causing misalignment. We removed the old component, took precise measurements, and manufactured a new one.

Capitol construction dropped a bucket by needing a full rebuild because the bottom was thin and cracking in multiple areas. To address this issue, we removed the bottom and replaced it with a new 1/4 hardox 450 bottom, as well as a new cutting edge provided by Capitol. Following the welding of both components, we installed the new 1/2 hardox 450 wear bars, positioning them 2 inches apart to allow for dirt to pack in and reduce wear. The final step entailed reattaching the factory cat teeth, which involved drilling 14 holes through the hardened steel. After completing the drilling, we flipped the bucket over and drilled counterbore holes on the bottom for the cat-style bolts. A quick coat of paint completed the repair, and the bucket is now operational.
