Project Manager Job Description
Job Summary:
The Project Manager oversees water and sewer infrastructure installation projects. This role involves managing all phases of construction projects—from planning and permitting to ex*****on and closeout—ensuring compliance with safety standards, budgets, and timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility construction, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and manage water and sewer installation projects from start to finish.
Review project plans, specifications, and permits to ensure feasibility and compliance.
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Supervise field crews and subcontractors, ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Communicate with clients, engineers, inspectors, and municipal agencies.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Prepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and final documentation.
Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in utility construction, specifically water and sewer systems.
Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with municipalities and utility companies.
Familiarity with trenchless technology, pipe bursting, and directional drilling.
OSHA certification or other safety training.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
