Today’s forecast: a heater arriving from above!

This S-Series is headed for rooftop duty, where it’ll trade airtime for a long career keeping hardworking people warm. A helicopter lift and a coordinated crew are all part of getting it there.

Thanks to Shawn Yeakel with M.A. Yeakel Sons Inc. for the job and the photo. We always appreciate a good view of the work in action!

Before asking “How much heat does this building need?” ask “What does the air need to do?”

In a warehouse, the priority may be keeping the occupied space warm. In a facility with significant process exhaust, the system must also replace the air being removed.

That distinction changes how a heating system is selected. Meeting a heating load and meeting an airflow requirement are connected, but they aren’t interchangeable.

For mechanical contractors, identifying what drives the application helps explain why the right heater for one facility may be a different choice for another.

It’s officially October! Exhaust fans aren’t slowing down, but the air replacing what they remove is starting to get colder.

When exhaust systems remove air without adequate replacement, buildings can experience negative pressure, cold drafts, and uneven temperatures, leaving employees uncomfortable and struggling to stay focused on the job.

Make-up air helps restore that balance by replacing exhausted air with fresh outdoor air. Our M-Series heats that incoming air to support ventilation and comfort while exhaust systems keep doing their job. As temperatures drop, don’t just check the heat. Consider what’s replacing the air leaving the building.

Commercial ventilation is more than comfort. It's a core engineering control for worker health, moisture control, building durability, and compliance.

In our latest post, we cover:
Why ventilation matters in commercial and industrial spaces
General (dilution) vs. local exhaust ventilation
What ASHRAE 62.1 and OSHA expect
The IAQ metrics to track, from CO2 to PM2.5 to RH
A step-by-step approach to improving ventilation in a high-bay facility
