➡️Detected handhygiene opportunities automatically when healthcare workers entered or exited a patient room
➡️Tracked the handhygiene compliance of healthcare workers.
➡️Handhygiene compliance rate and patient contact time were calculated and analysed at both ICU level and individual level over time.

✅ Findings: Patterns of hand hygiene behaviors among healthcare workers are complex and variable, which could facilitate targeted and personalized interventions to improve HH compliance.

1. A sensor-based electronic hand hygiene system improved hand hygiene compliance in the ICU.
2. Significant variations among providers in terms of hand hygiene compliance.
3. Hand rubbing duration in partial compliance occurrences did not change significantly over time.
