For our 2026 Cyclone Day of Service, team members gathered in Chicago for a hygiene kit assembly event to benefit local Chicago nonprofit Franciscan Outreach. Our team was joined by representatives from the organization who gave an overview of history and services provided for the Chicago homeless community. We then assembled 200 hygiene kits for delivery to the Franciscan Outreach Shelter Placement and Resource Center (SPARC).
Franciscan Outreach is a leading provider of homeless services in Chicago. They operate as a system of support for men and women who are marginalized and homeless. Through five service sites, they provide a diverse array of programs and services to our most vulnerable neighbors.

This year we'll cover net zero energy, sustainability, decarbonization, evolving codes and policies, innovative design, and digital twins - connecting new ideas with real-world challenges of designing, owning, operating and improving buildings. We have a great lineup of speakers featuring industry professionals that will be sharing insights to help advance the built environment. Whether you own, operate, manage, design, engineer, develop or build high performance buildings, there will be something to get you thinking about what's next. There will be plenty of networking opportunities, plus a post-Rodeo reception. This is a free event and it qualifies for 4 AIA LU/HSW hours 🏙️

We're pleased to announce that Emmalyn Riley has been appointed to the Illinois Energy Conservation Advisory Council as the Commercial Energy Efficiency Advocate. The primary purpose of the council is to recommend modifications to the Illinois Energy Conservation Code and Illinois Stretch Energy Code, as well as to provide a forum for interested parties to provide comment and present issues related to the codes.
