Good afternoon Southside Dragons,

We trust you are staying safe out there and treating all your fellow Americans with dignity and respect that everyone deserves. We want to take a moment from all that is going on to announce the 379th CBRN Company has been officially selected as the winners of the MG William L. Sibert Award for FY 2020 for the United States Army Reserve component! You all performed exceptionally over the last year and your leaders could not be more proud of that talent and professionalism! Keep up the great work and congratulations on making yourselves the best CBRN Company in the Army!

The Sibert award recognizes the top performing company-sized Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) unit in the active Army, the Army National Guard, and the United States Army Reserve. It recognizes these units for their excellence in mission readiness. They achieved the highest standards in such areas as unit training, maintenance, discipline, safety, reenlistment, awards, and overall organizational excellence. These companies have repeatedly provided outstanding support to the joint war fighter in large scale combat operations and defense of the homeland.

The Sibert award is named after the man often referred to as the “Father of the Chemical Corps,” Major General William L. Sibert.
