This past weekend, Indiana Landmarks hosted an incredible Rescue Party, celebrating the House of Tomorrow as this year’s featured success story.

We were proud to support the event and serve as general contractor for the Indiana Dunes National Park project, helping bring this iconic structure back to life. Not to mention, a great excuse to enjoy the Indiana Landmarks Center and appreciate everything historic preservation for an evening.

We were proud to welcome members of the City of Gary Government Council to tour the Tolleston Opportunity Campus, a $45 million transformation of a former school into a vibrant hub for youth development, wellness, and connection.

Berglund Construction and Powers & Sons Construction are proud to partner with Crossroads YMCA, Methodist Hospital and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana in delivering this impactful project to the Gary community.

Proud to support the $1M pergola restoration at North Lawndale’s historic Sears Garden as General Contractor, funded by The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.

Built in 1907, this iconic structure anchors the nearly 2-acre garden and marks the first step in a broader community-led effort to revitalize the space. Our team is focused on preserving its history while helping bring new life to one of Chicago’s most treasured green spaces.

The structure is the centerpiece of the nearly 2-acre garden built in 1907 as a rest spot for employees at what was then Sears' sprawling campus headquarters.

We’re proud to celebrate our CEO, Fred Berglund, as the 2026 Award of Honor recipient at the 70th Anniversary CBC Merit Awards.

This is the Chicago Building Congress’ highest individual honor and we couldn’t be more excited to see Fred recognized.

Since 1995, Fred has helped grow Berglund Construction into a Midwest leader in restoration, preservation, and new construction work - all while staying grounded in quality, safety, and strong client relationships.

As a lifelong part of our business, Fred continues to lead with purpose, support the next generation, and give back to the community, including his role on the Board of La Rabida Children's Hospital.

This project has been a steady effort with an incredible team, bringing a piece of Pullman’s history back to life. Great to see the scaffolding up and work underway.

The project is the first substantial exterior repair the Greenstone United Methodist Church has seen since its 1882 construction.

As we continue celebrating the inspirational women at Berglund, we are proud to recognize Toni Graham, Director of Community Initiatives, on receiving the Outstanding Cooperation Award from the African American Contractors Association.

This recognition honors leaders who strengthen the construction industry through partnership, advocacy, and community impact. Through her work, Toni continues to expand opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and champion growth and accountability across our industry.

As Jesse Jackson Jr. shared during the event, “As contractors, we build not only the literal buildings, but also the community, culture and the people around it.”

Toni lives this truth through her leadership, and we are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
