⚡Looking to grow your career in clean energy and green construction? 🌱 👷

The FEJA: Introduction to Electrification Pre-Apprenticeship Program is designed for individuals with an NCCER Core Certificate to build upon general construction skills and gain more training in the clean energy and electrical field.

Through successful completion of this program, you’ll earn an NCCER Electrical Level 1 and ARC Flash certifications through classroom learning and hands-on experience.

This 16-week, no-cost program begins July 13, 2026.

Access, Opportunity, and the Future of Small Diverse-Owned Businesses.

In a recent Crain’s Chicago Business article, Brenda Garza Karhoff, HACIA Board Member and President of Garza Karhoff Engineering, LLC, shares her perspective on how the recent changes to the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program are negatively impacting small diverse-owned businesses across the construction sector.

Programs designed to increase participation have been critical in building pathways for small diverse businesses to grow and thrive. With these rule changes, firms are having trouble accessing contracting opportunities and struggle to remain competitive in the industry.

As the regulatory landscape evolves, HACIA remains committed to advocating for equitable access and ensuring our members have the resources, information, and support they need to navigate these changes.

⚡ Last week, HACIA wrapped up another successful cohort of our Renewable Recharge EV Installation Workshop! ⚡

Through this hands-on, 4-day training, participants learned how to install an electric vehicle charger with live wiring, proper installation safety procedures, and gained a full understanding of different electric vehicles and their respective charger types.

A big thanks to the entire InChargeE team for hosting this cohort and providing valuable insight into the electric vehicle charging landscape. 🔌 🚗

HACIA recently united construction industry organizations from across the country in Washington, D.C. under the National Coalition for Infrastructure Growth to begin advancing a long-term, pro-growth initiative focused on strengthening America’s infrastructure marketplace.

By engaging directly with policymakers, we can ensure the industry’s voice is heard and we can continue to advance initiatives that strengthen small businesses and shape a more competitive contracting landscape across our nation's transportation infrastructure.
