Attention Program Leaders and Faculty!

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification’s (ASCP BOC) Research and Development Committee (R&D) has prepared the ASCP BOC Inclusive Educator Survey of Education Programs & Faculty 2026 for program directors and faculty of accredited laboratory science educational programs. The survey was previously administered in 2016, 2020, and 2023. This year, the survey is reaching out to leaders of the following accredited program types: Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Phlebotomy (PBT), Histotechnician (HT), Histotechnology (HTL), Cytogenetics (CG), Cytology (CT), Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA), Molecular Biology (MB), Pathologists’ Assistant (PA), and Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB).

The purpose is to gather information to support you in the important role you have in educating students and, thus, contribute to the future quality of medical laboratory science. The survey results will provide data that can support strategic planning for your program and community; support for additional funding requests to administration; evidence for grant applications, increasing the potential for new funding sources; workforce issues; and policy assessment in accordance with trends revealed through the survey. Your responses will clarify current issues and reveal trends that may impact program resources in the future.

As with any survey or study, the value depends on the participation of everyone! Your input is vital to the success of this project. The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, depending upon your role in the program.

The survey closes on June 21, 2026, 11:59PM PDT.

Please note that the survey is different for program directors and faculty.

If you are a program director, please take the survey here: https://bit.ly/4w1ifZ9

If you are a faculty member: https://bit.ly/4edpbMl

We hope the results of this survey will give you the tools you need to deliver the best possible education for your students. Thank you for your participation in this important project, and for all you do.
