The Competition runs from February 21st through the evening of February 28th
Location: Polsky Exchange

• Join us for our inaugural Conservation Competition in February 2020 and work together with a cross-disciplinary team to develop an innovative solution to making the consumer product life cycle more sustainable.
• The competition begins with a dinner and talk from the Kohler WasteLAB to discuss their approach to designing for the environment and the circular economy.
• After dinner, participants will have the chance to form their own groups of 4-5 to tackle this challenge – bring your friends!
• During the week of February 21st – 28th, groups are encouraged to meet and begin brainstorming their solution to the challenge.
• On the evening of February 28th, students will present to a panel of expert judges, and the competition will close with an awards ceremony.

Since 2013 she’s proudly worked in Chicago as the Field Museum’s Chief Curiosity Correspondent, assigned the joyful task of sharing stories about the natural world with a growing digital audience. LINDA R. FRIEDLIEB is a Senior Counsel, IP Litigation at AbbVie in North Chicago, IL. In her role at AbbVie, Ms. Friedlieb has worked on U.S. and international pharmaceutical patent litigation as well as licensing issues. Linda will present on what it is like to work in the life sciences field as an attorney. Undergraduate students are invited to attend to learn more about IP law, and how to get involved in this exciting field. She will also discuss the type of work attorneys perform in the AbbVie legal department and throughout the development of a new product. There will be a Q&A following the presentation. Ms. Friedlieb graduated with high honors from The Law School at the University of Chicago in 2005 and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2005.
