“Chip Seal” is a process which includes asphalt emulsion or “seal” that is sprayed evenly with a distributor . It is then followed by a “chip” spreader that chips out a specific stone and rate to cover the emulsion completely. Once the “chipper” has done its job a rubber tire roller will follow to lock the product in tight! Today most of your driven roads in rural areas are chip sealed!
