Did you know that using headlocks at the feed bunk can make a real difference in herd performance?

Studies show headlocks reduce aggressive displacements by about 21% compared to a post-and-rail feed rail (research from the University of Minnesota and others, like Endres et al.). This means less competition and shoving, so more cowsโ€”especially the more timid onesโ€”get consistent access to fresh feed instead of being pushed away and spending time standing or lying down waiting.

Better, more even feed intake across the group supports higher dry matter consumption and can contribute to improved milk production overall.

Plus, when cows are calmly eating at the bunk, it's much easier to perform routine vet work, treatments, vaccinations, or health checks right thereโ€”no need to chase or move them around the barn. This reduces stress on the cows and saves time and effort for you and your team.
