We don’t sell or install these but if anyone has a hotel style unit that fits this category Amana has issued a recall for them

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain Amana-branded Through the Wall air conditioners and heat pumps sold between April 2025 – June 2026. We have learned if the snubber circuit shorts it can emit flames and could pose a risk of serious injury due to fire hazard.

The model numbers in the recall include:

Model Name - Model Type
PBC092J00AA Air Conditioner
PBC093J00AA Air Conditioner
PBC122J00AA Air Conditioner
PBC123J00AA Air Conditioner
PBH092J12AA Heat Pump

The model number is located on the front of the unit on the front edge of the base pan on a white sticker. Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and visit https://www.amana-ptac.com/amana-ttw-wrac-recall-2 to register for the recall. Consumers will be required to provide their contact information, cut the product's cord, and then upload a photo of the product's serial number and cut cord in order to receive a full refund of the unit.

A new month is a good reminder to check your air filter.

Florida heat, humidity, dust, pets, and longer system run times can cause a filter to load up faster than expected.

A dirty filter can:

• Reduce airflow

• Make your system run longer

• Increase energy use

• Affect comfort and indoor air quality

• Put unnecessary strain on your equipment

Your filter may not need to be replaced every month, but it should be checked every month. Replacement frequency depends on the filter, your home, pets, and how often the system runs.

Why can a new air-conditioning system occasionally experience a parts failure?

Even carefully manufactured and professionally installed equipment can develop an unexpected problem.

• Components are inspected and tested at the factory.

• The equipment may travel hundreds of miles and be handled several times before reaching your home.

• After installation, we test the system and check it for refrigerant leaks.

• In rare cases, a tiny weakness may not become detectable until the system has operated through normal heating and cooling cycles.

This does not automatically mean the equipment is poor quality or that it was installed incorrectly. It means mechanical equipment can occasionally experience an unexpected defect.

That is why reputable manufacturers and HVAC contractors provide warranties. If an unexpected problem appears, what matters most is having a company that stands behind the installation, identifies the issue, and takes care of its customer.

Today was a great day celebrating our team during Hobbs Heating & Air’s Employee Appreciation Day at Topgolf Panama City Beach.

We enjoyed spending time together, playing games, sharing a meal, and making memories outside of the usual workday. Our team works hard every day to serve our customers, and we are grateful for the dedication, effort, and commitment each person brings to the company.

Lightning Safety Tip from Hobbs Heating & Air

With thunderstorms and frequent lightning moving through our area, we recommend turning your thermostat to the OFF position until the storm and lightning have passed.

Power surges and interruptions caused by lightning can be hard on HVAC equipment and electronic components. Turning your system off during periods of heavy lightning is a simple precaution that may help reduce the risk of equipment failure.

Once the storm has safely passed, simply turn your thermostat back on and resume normal operation.
