Mechanical Optimizers was a proud sponsor of this year’s Retrofittings in support of our neighbor St. Vincent De Paul. As SVDP’s signature fundraising event, RetroFittings is instrumental in raising crucial funds in support of SVDP’s local programs. On Thursday, October 19th at Music Hall, we were among 450 guests on hand to watch the runway show featuring fashion designs created by the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program. Each designer had the challenge of transforming their $25 SVDP Thrift Stores purchase to create a high fashion masterpiece. As St. Vincent’s CEO Brad McMonigle shared, it is a similar transformation of hope and beauty that occurs at St. Vincent everyday as they help our neighbors in need stay fed, housed and healthy.

We're excited to share that our RetroFittings fashion show raised more than $210,000! The event showcased the incredible talents of University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning students who transformed non-clothing items from the SVDP Thrift Stores into brilliant runway fashion designs. A big thank you to our volunteers, partners, sponsors (all tagged below), and vendors for making this possible. Thanks to our community's generosity, we'll be able to support St. Vincent de Paul's programs that help our neighbors with basic necessities like food, clothing, rent, and utilities. Together, we're spreading hope and making a difference in our community!
