🍂 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: A PLAYROOM MADE FOR FALL FUN! 🍂

As the weather gets cooler and outdoor playtime gets shorter, there’s nothing better than having a fun, cozy space where kids can let their imaginations run wild!

For this project, Cincinnati Drywall, Inc. helped transform a kid’s playroom into an inviting indoor play space that’s ready for the colder months ahead.

One of the standout features? This unique ACT tile ceiling! The fun perforated design adds character, texture, and a playful touch that fits perfectly with the space.

From the ceiling details to the finished walls, we loved being part of this transformation — creating a space that’s not only functional, but made for playing, exploring, and making memories all season long. 🍁❄️

Cooler weather is coming… and this playroom is ready!

👋 Meet the Team: Phil | President & CEO

This week, we’re excited to introduce someone who is a pretty important part of Cincinnati Drywall, Inc.’s story — Phil, our President & CEO!

Phil represents the 3rd generation of his family to own and operate Cincinnati Drywall, Inc., carrying on a family legacy that began in 1973 with his grandfather. The business was later passed down to the next generation, and eventually, Phil’s family passed the torch to him upon their retirement.

Phil’s journey with CDI started long before he became President. He began working alongside his dad, uncles, and aunts during the summers while he was in high school. After graduating, he joined the company full-time and worked his way up through the business, learning the ins and outs of the operation every step of the way.

Today, after 30 years with the company, Phil continues to lead the business while carrying forward the values, hard work, and family tradition that started more than 50 years ago. ❤️

When he’s not at work, Phil enjoys spending time outdoors and tackling all kinds of projects. You can find him:
🚤 Boating on the Ohio River
🏁 Off-roading with his wife and friends in their side-by-side
🔨 Working on house and farm projects
🚙 Working on car and truck projects
👶 And, most importantly, spending time with his newest grandson!

We’re grateful for everything you do, Phil! We’re proud to have you as part of our team — and our story.

It May Be Small, But It’s Still a Process

We completely understand that when you hear “it’s just a small drywall repair,” it can sound like something that should be done in an hour or two. The reality is that even a small repair goes through several steps—and each one matters when you want the finished job to look like the damage was never there.

Here’s a quick look at the process:

🛠️Assess the damage – We determine what needs to be repaired and what may be hiding behind or around the damaged area.

🛠️Protect the area – Floors, furniture, and surrounding surfaces are covered and protected before work begins.

🛠️Cut and prepare – Damaged drywall is removed, edges are cleaned up, and the area is prepared for the new material.

🛠️Install the patch – New drywall is measured, cut, fitted, and secured properly.

🛠️Tape and mud – Joints and seams are taped and covered with joint compound. This is where patience becomes important.

🛠️Drying time – Joint compound needs adequate time to dry between coats. Temperature, humidity, and the thickness of the compound can all affect drying time.

🛠️Sand and inspect – We sand the repair, check it from different angles and in different lighting, and make additional corrections if needed.

🛠️Texture (if needed) – Matching the existing wall or ceiling texture can take some time.

🛠️Clean up – We remove our materials, clean the work area, and leave your space as tidy as we can.

So while the actual damaged area may be small, doing the job correctly involves quite a few steps.

We’re a small, family-owned drywall business, and we take pride in doing those steps properly rather than rushing through them. Our goal isn’t to make a small repair take longer—it’s to make sure the repair is done right and looks like it belongs there.

Thanks for supporting small, local businesses!

The Difference Between a Drywall Patch & a Professional Finish

A drywall patch can cover the damage—but a professional finish should make you forget the damage was ever there.

The difference is in the details: proper preparation, blending the repair into the existing surface, matching texture, creating smooth transitions, and proper priming and paining techniques makes sure the finished area looks right.

It's easy to focus on getting the hole or damaged area covered. The real skill is making the repair disappear.

That's the standard we bring to every drywall repair we take on. When the job is finished, you shouldn't see our repair—you should just see your wall.

Good drywall work doesn't call attention to itself. That's the point.

Meet the Team! 👋

Everyone, meet Jacob! Jacob is part owner and Vice President of Cincinnati Drywall, and he’s been with the company for 17 years.

His journey with Cincinnati Drywall started when he was just 16 years old, stocking trucks during the summers home from college. From there, he worked his way up to laborer and continued climbing the ladder to where he is today. We’re proud to have watched him grow alongside the company!

When you schedule your free estimate, Jacob is one of the friendly faces you may meet along the way.

A few fun facts about Jacob: he’s graduated Morehead State with an Engineering Management degree, is an avid Bengals fan 🐅, and, most recently, a brand-new first-time dad! 👶

We’re lucky to have him on the Cincinnati Drywall team! 🏠
